On Wednesday I spent a few worthwhile hours photographing some of the amazing Kids at Shooting Star Chase in Guildford - a charity I have been working with for many years and like many children's hospices a place full of warmth and committed people. As a photographer I have always enjoyed working with Children and spent many years as a portrait photographer so its nice to use my skills to help create awareness of a charity that provides services that we all wish were not needed but sadly are a fact of life. The first time I visited 'Christopher's' - the Shooting Star Chase hospice, I was overwhelmed by the care and attention the staff and Volunteers give to the kids, how colourful and bright everything was and what a happy place it was. In the years since I have met some amazing children and their families and have made friends with some of the incredible people involved. This particular little star is Lily who has bags of character and who loved having her photos taken to help raise awareness of the work done at the Hospice. We were even treated to some fab singing - a true star! To find out more please visit the website at www.shootingstarchase.org.uk
